The greatest number of balls pocketed on a UK table in 24 hours is 16,511 by Paul Sullivan (UK) at the Royal Oak, Hirst Courtney, N Yorks on 17-18 Apr 1998.

The greatest distance travelled with a pool cue on the chin is 1,668 m (5,472 ft 9 in) set by Ashrita Furman (USA) at the Joe Austin Playground in Jamaica, New York, USA, on 6 July 2008.

The longest duration balancing a pool cue on one finger was 4 hr 7 min and was achieved by Ashrita Furman (USA) at the Panorama Cafe, Jamaica, New York, USA, on 18 November 2009.

The record for the fastest time to travel one mile (1.6 km) on foot whilst balancing a pool cue on one finger is 6 min 55 sec and was set by Ashrita Furman (USA) at the Queens College track in Queens, New York, on 19 July 2009.

The longest singles pool marathon was 53 hr 25 min by Brian Lilley and Daniel Maloney (both USA) at VFW Post, North Carolina, USA, from 10-12 October 2008.

The longest three cushion billiards marathon was 45 hr 10 min with Arie Hermans and Jeff Fijneman (both Netherlands) playing against each other at Biljartzaal de Eekhoorn, Oosterhout, Netherlands from 12 to 14 February 2004.

The largest pool tournament consisted of 5,361 participants in the 8-Ball division of the 2010 APA National Team Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, from 19 to 28 August 2010. The APA is the American Poolplayers Association and claims membership in its association of more than 265,000 people. The overall championships saw a total of 12,329 participants compete in eight different divisions.

The youngest player to win a pool World Championship is Chia-ching Wu (Taiwan, b. 9 February 1989) aged 16 years 121 days when he won the title at Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 10 June 2005.

And finally, the oldest competitive pool player is Wesley Walker (USA) (b. 24 April 1916) who plays for Southern Vending in the Valley National Eight-ball Association league in Oklahoma, USA.  (That makes him 95 years old!!!)
